For many centuries the Portuguese ruled over the state of Goa in South India and with them came the origins of this famous hot curry.

Typically using pieces of meat soaked in vinegar overnight, the Goans added fresh spices, chilli and sugar to the marinade giving this curry has a sweet-sour and fiery hot taste. Traditionally Vindaloo is a very hot curry; this is not one for the faint hearted!
